What are OTC hearing aids?

Over-the-counter (OTC) are a new type of hearing aid launched for the American market that people can buy directly without visiting a hearing health professional for an assessment or fitting. These devices are intended to help adults with mild to moderate hearing loss.

OTC hearing aids are designed to be cheap and accessible. The affordability of OTC hearing aids means they are less able to support more complex listening situations. Many of the features of the ReSound Nexia™ 9 are not present in an OTC device.

If you have any questions about OTC hearing aids or Nexia™ 9 hearing aids from ReSound you can get in touch here.
