Can I sleep with my hearing aids in?

We generally advise people not to wear their hearing aids while sleeping. Hearing aids are delicate and could be damaged if worn during sleep, and overnight wear can also affect how often to replace hearing aids. This is also the time of day when most people put their hearing aids in the charger.

If there are safety concerns around hearing alarms while sleeping, please discuss this with your Resonate Audiologist, as there are assistive devices that can be used to help. It’s also worth reading more about how hearing aids affect your sleep more generally, or visiting our Sleep & Hearing Health hub for related guidance.
